I want you to try the opposite. Grab the lightest dumbbells in the gym, 2 pounds, 3 pounds, 5 pounds, and spam the hell out of your delts with volume instead of load. I am 61 years old and this is how I actually train shoulders. In this video I run you through the full circuit: three exercises back to back hitting the front, mid and rear delts, 20 to 25 reps each, four rounds, 45 to 60 seconds rest. That is 75 to 100 reps per round and your shoulders will be on fire by the end of it. I also cover when to move up the rack and when to go back down. Heavy is subjective. Growth comes from controlled volume and a full range of motion, not from the number on the dumbbell. 🔑 In this video: 0:00 Why "go heavy or go home" fails on shoulders 0:24 The setup: three exercises, lightest weights, four rounds 0:56 Front, mid and rear delts in one circuit 1:39 Exercise 1: seated lateral raise, leading with the elbow 3:01 Exercise 2: bent over rear delt raise, thumb out 4:08 Exercise 3: front raise, and the variation you choose 4:48 Why this adds up to 75 to 100 reps 5:03 Rest periods, and how to know whether to go up or down 5:48 Inside the Built Different Collective 6:53 Heavy is subjective: thoughtful progressive overload at 12 to 16 reps 7:34 Round two, in real time 9:01 Spam the delts, and why we train for 20 years from now 👉 A full year of programs, dumbbell only, no equipment and commercial gym, plus diet and the community: https://www.skool.com/built-different-collective/about Built Different is a movement for men who are done training with their ego and ready to train with intention.
