Watch as this incompetent BBC Panorama reporter fails to hold his own against a polite yet persistent Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair. In the BBC's 30 min 'expose' of Ryanair they failed to expose anything, instead unwittingly broadcasting a half hour advert for Ryanair. So much for their cool, calm, objective reporting. The BBC production team totally failed to pick up on any of the issues that passengers complain most bitterly about: lack of transparency in pricing (until you get to the end of the transaction), lack of flight delay status information, passengers stranded in obscure foreign airports with no hotels/taxis etc, general money-grabbing attitudes feeding down from top management, lack of adherence to EU reg 261 (for cancellations and delays), rip off (though legal) debit/credit card charges, spurious visa stamps for foreigners, nightmares with baggage allowance small print, over zealous staff etc etc. Ryanair are great, but each time you fly with them you play a lottery. If your flight gets cancelled and they wash your hands of you, you then become one of many vowing never to fly with them again. Why the BBC didn't pick up on this theme is beyond me. This episode of Panorama was a joke, the reporters and producers should be ashamed. To be honest I do feel a bit sorry for Vivian White, but while he may be good in the back office (though evidently not for this episode) he comes across as a hopeless, tongue-tied, bumbling mumbling face to face reporter. There must be so many aspiring journalists who'd jump at the chance to collar O'Leary, but Vivian just seemed to crumble. Poor show.
