Due to excessive exploitation and illegal mining, the pond also dried up and the situation here had also deteriorated completely! The deer, wild boar, peacock, rabbit living here migrated. In the year 2022, when the villagers got upset with the illegal mining of gypsum, they called Shyamsunder Jyani, a professor of sociology at Bikaner Dungar College, to the village! Fighting the mining mafia is not an easy task and this work cannot be done alone. That is why he first united the Jasnathi community living in the village. He explained to the community the importance of community land i.e. pasture, forest, animals as well as the environment. In this explanation, he told the community that there is sand in the desert, but it is not dead. When the community came together, in June 2022, we traveled to 104 villages and collected funds for the conservation of Dabla pond. We collected about one crore rupees from this journey. With this money, first the area recorded in the records of Dabla pond was removed and then it was fenced and two people were also deployed along with the villagers for its security.
