Healing the mother wound can be very challenging and extremely painful. For those of us who grew up with the nurturing, the love, the attention, the comfort that we so longed from our mothers when we were children, navigating the world and handling our adult relationships can be overwhelming and tough. As boys, sometimes we're told and even taught to contain our emotions, to not express, to "Grow up" and not "act like a baby." We are sometimes discouraged to recognize and express how we truly feel, so we get stuck and we constantly feel constricted, so as adults, we either withdraw, distract ourselves, or lash out angrily. In the video, I discussed some of the ways we can help ourselves become unstuck from this cycle of pain and longing-ness and frustration that we feel as men as a result of the mother wound. Once we start working on ourselves and dealing with our stuff more and more, feelings of helplessness, anger, ambiguity, confusion, torment, loneliness, depression, or fear will start melting away to reveal a stronger, healthier masculine character, somebody who is confident, loving, present, emotionally stable, and happy.
