Menurut Yusril, Prabowo mengetahui karena dilaporkan oleh Kapolri Jenderal Suyudi. “Sudah barang tentu Presiden tahu, karena dilaporkan oleh Kapolri kepada beliau,” kata Yusril. Yusril menyebut Prabowo langsung memerintahkan Kapolri untuk melakukan proses hukum sesuai aturan perundang-undangan. “Presiden yang merintahkan untuk melambil satu langkah hukum yang tegas, sesuai ketentuan undang-undang yang berlaku, dan penyidikan dilakukan betul-betul secara objektif, terhadap siapapun yang diduga bersalah, yang sekarang seperti itulah yang sudah dilakukan,” ujar Yusril.
