The out of place, super realistically shaded, obviously uncanny AI generated artworks have been replaced. "Bunny Land" and "Crystal Bloom" songs also got similar update. I have a bit more to say below. Footage before update fromăHirojixi Channelă, thank you very much! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tEZyv8Oocw Groove Coaster Future Performers --- Even assuming that one has completely neutral stance about how AI was trained, this is still a problem and make players feeling uneasy. Most target audiences of this game are not moms and dads and can recognize AI art (and these are not even prompted well and obviously out of place with the game). Unlike AI assisted coding the artwork is in direct contact with players. If you use them you agree to also take the smell that comes with them, like if you are going to buy and eat factory made frozen burger in minimart instead of a burger someone just grilled for you, you accepted the industrial smell. Now is this AI smell acceptable? Might be even great somewhere, but is unsuitable for games. Players likely have some level of AI fatigue from the real world, then a game which is supposed to give them a temporary escape now kicks them back to the real world and annoys them. For a game that comes with excellent full voice story mode and completely new world full of interesting interactions between different year students and races this will definitely weird them out. It is unthinkable for one song that requires a lot of effort for note charts, camera works, modeling vector assets, deciding on colors, the sequencing and setting up particle effects, only for someone to cut corner on something like this. And let's not forget this is an original song that ties to the story and characters, and in extensions all the voice talents like Sakura Miko and the composer Satsuki, and all the artists who worked on story mode assets or even the people who planned and schedule studio for voice recordings. Game is one unit of combined experience so if someone says this seemingly small thing 'ruined the game' for them I'd not blame them at all. They think they can use raster asset in their new engine now and so they can get infinite images easily from AI. It'd be an excellent use to create placeholders so other team members can work on camera and animations while the art is being commissioned or drawn. Now onto the bigger problem about this game that the player could smell from things like this. So why no one in the testing pipeline said anything about this? Sure artwork might be subjective, but how about the repetitive songs problem in Story Mode. An obvious extra note in WV!WV!WV! Master. Or how analog stick rapid fires notes for no reason that only causes bad judgement because there is no more Scratch note. (All of which were just fixed in recent patches.) They contribute to this speculation: Dev team had some sort of internal problems and devs only had time to test section by section in the editor, there is zero integration testing for this game. I mean a test where one person play like a real player from the start like they just bought the game. If even one Master ~13 level player play through the Story Mode, surely they would have came across WV!WV!WV! Master bug no matter Basic or Advanced they choose. Surely they must have touched the right side analog stick with their thumb at some point and frustrated them. Even more puzzling that this song had a promotional lyrics video commissioned (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmc-ssK7oCs) and is obviously with a lot of love and care. I can't think they are lacking funding or anything. There should be some sort of directing or management problem that make the dev team so out of sync with the rest of pipeline I'd love to see fixed please Taito, and bring Groove Coaster back to its glory with this restart. Thank you. PS: Just in case someone is not yet convinced that the before update was AI art, half an apple on the left side of Pudding a la Mode has jagged leaves growing out of where the stem is touching the fruit in a way that no human artist would intentionally draw. Since one AI art starts from refining noises together not that they draw each fruit one by one, the whole plate is influenced by the "weight" of existence of strawberries below where AI was trained that green parts are usually there. Strawberries are also affecting plum (?) on the right, causing AI to grow leaves close to the fruit like Strawberries, instead of coming from stems. Also there are way too many sizes of Blueberries, notably the one near Strawberries is suspiciously similar in size. Lastly "Ă la mode" is either something topped with ice cream (bakery like pies or waffles) or with side options (like pudding). AI was trained with both, and misunderstood that pudding is toppable with ice cream and also come with fruits, where real world the ice cream should be put beside the pudding not on top.
