In recent months, Steve and Ryan at YCR have been cracking on with the work on 'Patches', my 1973 Porsche 914/4 2.0, named thanks to the extensive rust found on the bodywork. With the bodywork having needed extensive reconstruction, that process is nearing completion and as such, we can finally prepare for the paints and how it's going to look ahead, and that means revealing what shade we're going for. The purchase of the 914 was very much inspired by my girlfriend, Püppi150, and we've chose to paint it in Porsche's PTS Sternrubin; also known as Rubystar or Rubystone Red. This colour was first introduced at the Geneva Motorshow in 1991 on the 964 Carrera RS, the same year as Püppi, and it will be combined with a stunning interior too. To complete the car, given it spent 6 months being straightened out; my 914 2 litre has the very suitable registration: JIG 9142.
