Dreamscapes 23 Let's go back in Salento, one of most beautiful part of Southern Italy, where our friends Marchii (Germany) and Walter Coccoli (Italy) played their special organic house selection for Dreamscapes: a small journey through melodic grooves and dreamy pattern across the waves of fancy moods and their iconic sound! Thanks to Zuurii Records! HISTORY BITES The village of Acaya, once called Segine, dates back to the Middle Ages and became part of the County of Lecce in the 12th century. Donated by the Angevins to the Convent of San Giovanni Evangelista in Lecce, it was granted as a feud in 1294 by Charles II of Anjou to Gervasio dell’Acaya. In fact, the name Acaya was assumed in 1535, when Gian Giacomo dell’Acaya, ‘royal military engineer’ of Charles V, built walls to fortify the centre, added bastions, ramparts and a moat to the castle, which had been built by his father Alfonso dell’Acaya in 1506. Following the death of Gian Giacomo dell’Acaya in 1570, the feud passed to the Royal Treasury in 1575 and in 1608 it was purchased by Alessandro De Monti. The village of Acaya went through a period of decadence, which degenerated following the Ottoman devastation of 1714. At the end of the 17th century, the feud returned to the Royal Court, which in 1688 sold it to the De Monti-Sanfelice family, who in turn sold it to the Vernazza family, who were the last feudal lords until the abolition of feudalism in 1806. ☞ Subscribe our channel for more videos: https://bit.ly/379NVm6 Video credits: Artists: Marchii, Walter Coccoli Venue: Castello di Acaya, Vernole, Lecce, Italy Produced & Filmed by Dreamscapes Drone shots: Dreamscapes Photos: Dreamscapes Mix & Mastering: Marchii & Walter Coccoli -- Special thanks to: Zuurii Records, Votre Thanks to municipality of Acaya for their kind hospitality!
