Now it’s time to reverse the process - installing the new bearings and putting the shafts back into the transmission housing. • In this part, we will press the new support bearings onto the input and output shafts and then install both shafts back into the gearbox housing. • There is a special tool specifically designed for this job on the 02T transmission. However, this type of factory tool can cost several hundred euros. • In the previous video, I showed how the bearings could be removed without purchasing this expensive tool. This time, we’ll take the same approach and install the new bearings using simple workshop tools and suitable spacers. • The key is to choose the correct supports and spacers so that the pressing force is applied to the correct part of the bearing without damaging it. • Once the new bearings are installed, we move on to fitting the input and output shafts back into the transmission housing.
