Bu saygısına önce , 1976 yılında ALBERT AYLER’ın anısına yaptığı “FLOWERS FOR ALBERT” albümünde tanık olduk. Daha sonra 1994 yılında çıkan “SAXMEN” albümünü ise LESTER YOUNG, SONNY ROLLINS, CHARLIE PARKER, CHARLIE ROUSE, SONNY STITT ve JOHN COLTRANE’e ithaf etmişti. Şanslıydık ki, DAVID MURRAY bizim de yaşamımıza AKBANK JAZZ FESTİVALİ dolayısıyla POZİTİF ile girdi. POZİTİF F demek, CEM YEGÜL, AHMET ve MEHMET ULUĞ demekti. Üçlünün MURRAY ile ilişkisi yalnızca festivalle sınırlı değildi. Ailecek dostlukları çok önce New York’ta başlamıştı. Acaba MURRAY’in o zaman hiç aklına birgün MEHMET ULUĞ (MEMO) için de bir anma albümü yapacağı gelir miydi? MEMO’muzun zamansız kaybı nedeniyle, MURRAY’in ve yine Pozitif’in dostları olan topluluğunun yolu bir kez daha Babylon’da bir anma konseri için İstanbul’a düşecekti 2015 yılının Mart ayında...Böylece, “MEHMET ULUĞ SUITE” ilk kez seslendirildi. Bu anmanın bir albüme dönüşmesi kaçınılmazdı. 24-27 Ekim 2015’de İstanbul’da Babajim’da kayıtları yapılan albümün tanıtım konseri, 27 Ekim akşamı BOMONTİ Babylon’da AKBANK JAZZ FESTİVALİ çerçevesinde ve inanılmaz bir duygu seli içinde gerçekleşti. “BLUES FOR MEMO” adıyla çıkan albümde yalnızca MEHMET ULUĞ anılmıyor...Modern jazz’ın iki büyük öncüsü, SUN RA ve BUTCH MORRIS de birer besteleriyle MEHMET ULUĞ SUITE’e eşlik ediyor.
