Muawiyah ra VS Ali ra | What Happened During First Fitna in Islamic History | Daniyal Voice Muawiyah (RA): The Companion Who Fought Ali (RA) – The Untold Story Who was Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (رضي الله عنه)? Was he merely a ruler seeking authority, or one of the most influential political leaders in Islamic history? Why did a Companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ come into conflict with another Companion—Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه)? What truly happened during the First Fitnah? And why does this chapter of Islamic history continue to be debated more than fourteen centuries later? In this in-depth documentary, we uncover the complete life of Muawiyah (رضي الله عنه) through the Qur'an, authentic Hadith, and the earliest reliable historical sources. From his acceptance of Islam and his role as one of the scribes of revelation for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, to his distinguished governorship of Syria, the establishment of the first Muslim naval force, the campaigns against the Byzantine Empire, the Battle of Siffin, the treaty with Hasan ibn Ali (رضي الله عنه), and his years as Caliph—we explore every major chapter of his remarkable life. In this documentary, we answer some of the most important questions: • Why did Muawiyah (رضي الله عنه) and Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) come into conflict? • What led to the Battle of Siffin? • Why did Hasan ibn Ali (رضي الله عنه) relinquish the caliphate? • What do authentic narrations in Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and Jami' al-Tirmidhi mention regarding Muawiyah (رضي الله عنه)? • How did the great scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah understand these events? • Which historical reports are authentic, which are weak, and which remain disputed? Rather than relying on emotion or sectarian arguments, this documentary presents the events with historical balance, authenticity, and fairness, following the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah. Every effort has been made to distinguish between verified narrations, weak reports, and later historical claims.
