We’ve finally got our hands on the new Mercedes-AMG SL 55, so of course, we had to take it for a drag race! We’ve got Mat lining up in the AMG, and alongside him, we have Yianni in a Porsche 911 GTS. Oh, and there's also a BMW M850i and a Jaguar F-Type R lining up for good measure! So let’s see how this set of convertibles compares. Starting with the AMG, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that’s good for 476hp and 700Nm. It’s equipped with four-wheel-drive, tips the scales at 1,950kg, and costs an eye-watering £147,000! The Porsche is the lightest car in the line-up, weighing in at 1,615kg. It’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo flat-six that can deliver 480hp and 570Nm, but it may have a potentially significant disadvantage… It’s only equipped with RWD! Next up we have the BMW, with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can put down 530hp and 750Nm. It may have 4WD, but it’s also the heaviest car here, tipping the scales at 2,125kg!
