Here's something I didn't expect finding, an ATLAS elevator with Rotodial! No, it's not an IEE indicator on the ground floor call station, it's actually a Rotodial with a light behind it, as you can feel and hear something moving inside. This is an a complex of residential towers in the south side of São Paulo, and there are 16 of them in here, each one named after the state capitals of Brazil (in this video, the Porto Alegre tower). Security here is tough - visitors have their ID checked and there are cameras everywhere, but they were cool with my filming. When I first entered this location, I expected "Oh, in a place like this, they probably modernized all of the elevators", but, to my surprise, they all had original Classe As. Being 16 buildings with 2 elevators each, they have 32 elevators in this condominium. This one, as you can see, is different from the Classe As I've filmed before - it's even more similar to 60s and 70s Westinghouses from the USA, taking in consideration the button placement, and that the COP has switches for fan and light. Another difference, is that it does not have the circular "Elevadores Atlas" logo, instead, it has just "ATLAS VILLARES" on the top portion. Later additions seen are a TV screen (very unusual for a residential tower), an intercom, and tons of stickers from Schindler (I'm surprised it still has the first Atlas Schindler logo). Also, note that the car itself does not feature an indicator - the only one is the rotodial on the ground floor. Cab design follows the classic 1980s Brazilian Residential style - beige walls, big mirror in the back and panel on the front. The ride is pretty nice - no major shakes or hard stops, and the noises during the trip are normal for every elevator, but it won't be the smoothest ride ever, since this elevator is from the early 80s. Following the line of Atlas, it has an epic motor, of course. Specifications: Brand: ATLAS Villares Mantainer: Schindler Model: Classe A Fixtures: Residential 1st Gen Classe A (Westinghouse AE) Type: Passenger Residential Hoist: Overhead Traction Doors: 2 speed telescoping (car), manual push/pull (landings) In Service: 1982 Floors Served: 19 (3S - 1S, T*, 1 - 15) Rating: 9/10. One of the most epic elevators I've ever filmed. Epic motor and fixtures, and I was expecting some boring modernizations here. Lack of car indicator is a problem, though.
