As we continue our Jubilee Journey, Isabella and I traveled about an hour to visit St. Anthony of Padua Church in Akron, Ohio. ✨ From the moment we walked through the doors, one word came to mind: 🕯️ Reverence. We thought we had arrived early for Monday evening Mass, but people were already walking into the church. When I asked a parishioner what was happening, he gladly explained that Father usually comes early to hear Confessions. And there was a line. For Confession. On a Monday night. ❤️ Along the way, we discovered three things that stood out: 🎶 Sacred music that immediately calmed my soul and helped prepare our hearts for Mass. 🤎 A brown Franciscan robe worn by the altar server—a fitting little surprise during our Jubilee Year of St. Francis journey. ✨ Beautiful marble walls and sacred architecture that immediately caught Isabella's attention and reflected the European inspiration behind this historic church. But once again, it was the unexpected moments that left the deepest impression. After Mass, Father personally met with us to give us our Jubilee stamp. He was available. He was approachable. And he took the time to welcome us. Before we left, he even gave us a parting gift that included a prayer book, Rosary, and other devotional items. 📿 Then we were invited to stay and pray the Rosary with the parish. Only a handful of us remained. But what an honor it was to sit together in that beautiful church and simply pray. 🙏 💡 Did you catch that? Sometimes reverence isn't something we simply see inside a beautiful church. We experience it in the way people approach the Sacraments. We hear it in sacred music. We witness it in hospitality. And we participate in it when a small group of people chooses to stay just a little longer and pray together. ✝️ Our Mass takeaway brought the entire visit together. Jesus challenges us. Jesus guides us. Possessions themselves aren't necessarily bad. We all have things for a purpose. A car helps us get from one place to another. A phone helps us communicate. But the things we possess should serve their purpose. They should not possess us. Jesus challenges us to look at what we have and ask: Why do I have it? What is it for? And is anything I'm holding onto beginning to come between me and God? Learn to detach. Keep what you need. Give from what you have to those in need. And don't let what you possess... possess you. 👐 Thank you to St. Anthony of Padua Church in Akron for welcoming two pilgrims so warmly. ❤️ Thank you to Father for taking the time to meet with us, give us our Jubilee stamp, and send us home with such thoughtful gifts. This became one of our favorite stops along the Jubilee Journey. Whether you're new to the faith, returning to the Church, or simply searching for hope... Hold loosely to the things of this world—and tightly to Christ. ✝️ 🕯️ Walk Faithfully If this video encouraged you: 👍 Like the video 🔔 Subscribe for more Jubilee Journey stops 📤 Share with someone who may need encouragement today 🕯️ Until next time… Walk Faithfully 🚶♀️✨ 🔖 Hashtags #JubileeJourney #CatholicPilgrimage #StAnthonyOfPadua #AkronOhio #CatholicFaith #CatholicChurch #CatholicMass #Confession #HolyRosary #Detachment #StFrancis #WalkFaithfully #OptiBooster #CatholicLife #ChristianJourney #HoldTheLight #BringThemHome
