This video demonstrates two different methods for creating end-to-end tests: Architect and the Create Agent. ā Methods of Test Creation: š¹ Architect: A point-and-click recording solution that enables teams to simply walk through the application and generate these end-to-end flows. This approach is very similar to traditional record and playback methods š¹ Create Agent: A prompt-based test creation tool that allows teams to use natural language prompts to generate end-to-end flows. A unique benefit of this tool, when paired with cloud execution services, is the ability to actually generate these tests in parallel, which means application coverage can be achieved much faster than with a traditional point-and-click approach or especially a coded approach. The speaker highlights that the Create Agent is the industry-leading approach, as many solutions are looking to shift away from record and playback or coded tools. ā The Platform's Approach to Testing: Regardless of the creation method, user flows are going to be stored and executed from this cloud environment. The reason for this is the unique, data-driven view the platform takes of every application state, and this information is fed into a proprietary machine learning AI model. Unlike traditional testing, where solutions often rely on traditional selectors (like the name attribute or some other specific attribute) to target an element, which can lead to maintenance issues as applications evolve, this approach captures about 200 features or attributes for every element on the page. ā This AI approach enables: š¹ Self-healing tests with much higher levels of accuracy. š¹ Autonomous generation of tests based off very simple requirements. š¹ Autonomous test diagnostics using a diagnostics agent. š¹ Maintenance of these tests using that agent. š¹ Automatic documentation of everything covered, without teams having to go through that manual process. ā Demonstration using Salesforce: š¹The video uses Salesforce as an example. Salesforce makes a really interesting example because it's typically quite difficult to automate against due to features such as shadow DOMs, embedded iframes, and dynamic elements. Furthermore, as a SaaS service, Salesforce can actually deploy changes at any point that could break the tests that are already built out. š¹The demonstration shows how the Create Agent handles much higher level objectives, rather than requiring the detailed steps where every interaction is going to be documented, which is common in traditional prompting. ā The prompt demonstration includes: š¹ Reusability with Page Objects: Utilizing a reusable "page object" for a repetitive task, such as an authentication flow. This allows teams to avoid rewriting prompts for things used across numerous different tests. š¹ High-Level Objective: Providing a simple instruction, "create a new lead with tomorrow's date". This instruction handles multiple steps: navigating to the new leads page, opening the form, filling out all the required fields, and then using a date picker to select tomorrow's date. š¹ Verification: Adding an expectation for the test: "and then verify the status is new once saved".
