Marie, Detroit, and the Burlington Northern Dock #1 in Superior, Wisconsin - to uncover how one of the most advanced freighters of her time simply disappeared. We retrace the Fitzgerald’s final voyage, meet historians and eyewitnesses like Frederick Stonehouse and Jerry Tessendorf, and explore the powerful storms that make the inland seas behave like oceans. Through recovered artifacts, preserved lifeboats, and the tolling of her recovered bell, we honor the men who were lost - and the legacy that endures.
