Before the doctrines were set and the texts were burned and the serpent was made the enemy, the earliest followers of Jesus taught something that institutional Christianity spent two thousand years doing everything possible to erase. They called it the Christos within. A sacred fire. An inner serpent power rising through the body from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. A biological and spiritual process that made every human being their own temple, their own priest, their own direct connection to God. And it was identical to what yogis in India called kundalini awakening. In this first episode of a two part series, Alex explores one of the most suppressed and most significant convergences in the history of spirituality. The support video, which Alex describes as one of the best he has found, opens with a Coptic scholar in the British Museum in 1952 who discovers this exact teaching preserved in surviving fragments of early Christian manuscripts. The same anatomy, the same process, the same divine fire rising through the same pathway. He spends three years cross-referencing the material with mystical traditions across the world. Then he buries it. The implications were too dangerous. If the Christos was an internal serpent power that anyone could awaken, the entire edifice of institutional Christianity had been built on a fundamental misdirection. The word Christos in the earliest Greek manuscripts carried a meaning far deeper than the anointed one or Messiah. It referred to a specific internal secretion, a sacred substance the body produces when certain practices activate dormant spiritual anatomy. The Gnostic Christians described specific disciplines, fasting, breath control, meditation, and sacred union practices, that cause this Christos serpent to rise up the spine. When it reaches the crown it triggers what they called the resurrection, not a future post-death event but an immediate transformation of consciousness while still alive. Alex adds his personal frame throughout, including a fifteen-year-old story from a high school reunion where a Catholic priest, genuinely concerned and well-intentioned, told Alex that evil spirits were working through him because he claimed to have a direct connection to the creator without needing the church. The conversation ended with Alex saying I have the Christos within and the priest having no framework to understand what that meant.
