We need to mount the device so the top of the device has a clear view out of the windshield to get a clear GPS connection with satellites. Be sure not to mount the APEX Pro GEN II with any amount of Yaw towards the driver. This yaw will throw off the friction circle and slightly change the data you are recording. Make sure you clean the area with the provided alcohol swab included. The APEX Pro suction cup mount has the same base plate on it, so the unit can click right in. The suction cup mount has a 5lb breaking strength so it will hold onto the windshield just fine. Be sure not to mount the APEX Pro GEN II upside down. Press the blue power button to turn on the APEX Pro GEN II. Tap the steering wheel "Drive", tap the Bluetooth connection to find your APEX Pro. Tap the APEX Pro, and then calibrate the unit in the app after it has been mounted. Once this is completed, open the lap timer and hit start to log data. Once you are done with the session hit "Finish & Save" Once the session is over you can go back to "My Data" to review.
