Oldham We begin with Oldham, a borough in Greater Manchester in the North West. The town is historically notable for its culture of theater. It’s one of the worst towns to live in England. It’s a place no one would enjoy living in. How would anyone enjoy living in a town lacking in leisure and cultural amenities? It’s a town without a pleasure beach or anything to boost its image. No wonder Oldham has been among the most deprived towns in Britain several times. One frustrated resident of the town once complained that it’s “as though the government has been performing nuclear testing” in Oldham. 11.
