Selamat Hari Raya! In this video I celebrate Eid al Fitr in Malaysia and experience what might be the best Eid celebration in the world. From Eid markets and shopping for new Eid clothes, to Eid prayer at Masjid Wilayah, open house traditions, kampung hospitality, amazing Malaysian food, fireworks, and pelita lights, this was one of the most unforgettable Eid al Fitr experiences Iโve ever had. I start the video by coming back to my favorite country in the world, Malaysia. On the night before Eid al Fitr, I head out to explore the Eid markets, feel the Hari Raya atmosphere, shop for Eid clothes, and ask locals what Eid means to them. The energy in Kuala Lumpur during Eid is incredible, with night markets full of people preparing for one of the most important celebrations of the year. On Eid morning, I go to Masjid Wilayah for Eid salah, one of the most important parts of Eid al Fitr and a major part of the morning tradition in Malaysia. After the Eid prayer, the celebrations continue with family, friends, and one of the most special parts of Malaysian Hari Raya culture: open house. For open house, I travel to a Malaysian kampung (Hulu Langat) where families welcome guests into their homes throughout the day. During Eid al Fitr in Malaysia, people go from house to house visiting family, friends, and neighbors, sharing food and celebrating together. Every house is full of classic Malaysian Eid dishes like rendang, lemang, ketupat, and sambal. This open house tradition is one of the things that makes Eid in Malaysia feel so unique, warm, and community-driven. At night, the Eid traditions continue with more food, pelita lights, and fireworks. From the festive markets to Eid prayer to open house in a Malaysian village, this felt like the most complete Hari Raya experience Iโve ever seen. Celebrating Eid al Fitr in Malaysia showed me why so many people say this is one of the best places in the world to experience Eid. #malaysia #hariraya #eidulfitr #kualalumpur #eidalfitr
