But this is one of those cases. • The owner of a Ford C-Max came to me complaining about a knocking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. After discussing the symptoms and carrying out the inspection, it turned out that the owner had previously attempted to replace the rear brake discs and pads himself. • At first glance, everything seemed fine - new discs and new pads had already been installed. But after taking everything apart and inspecting the components in detail, we found several serious mistakes. • And the interesting part is that this particular car had almost every mistake you could possibly make during a rear brake replacement in one example. • Let’s start with the wheel hub nuts. On one side, the nuts had been installed with the cones facing outward, while on the other side they were installed with the cones facing inward. Two completely different installation methods on the same vehicle. • Next, we found the retaining spring clips on the brake calipers. They had been bent out of their original shape, and instead of being correctly restored, they had been secured using plastic zip ties. • But that’s not all. The brake pads were installed incorrectly: two outer pads had been installed on one side, while the two inner pads were installed on the other side. • One of the brake caliper pistons had also been completely pulled out and was missing. We take a closer look at what happened and why in the video. • And then there is one of the most basic parts of any brake repair - properly cleaning all mating and contact surfaces. This had not been done either, and the required contact surfaces had not been properly prepared. • In this video, I go through all of the mistakes we found during the teardown and explain why installing new parts is not enough if the job itself is not performed correctly. • In the next episode, I will show how everything should actually be installed, and we will restore the rear brakes properly. • This video is mainly intended as an educational example. Whenever you’re working on a vehicle, make sure you have the correct repair information available or at least take the time to learn the proper procedure before starting the job. • Enjoy the video! • #supermechanik #artempankovich #carservice #goldenhandsmechanic #Autos #CarRepair #AutoTips #MechanicTools #ŃŃƒŠæŠµŃ€Š¼ŠµŠ³Š°Š°Š²Ń‚Š¾ŃŠ»ŠµŃŠ°Ń€ŃŒ
