If you're currently an active or deferred member of the Teachers' Pension Scheme, you may be wondering how you'll make your choices for Transitional Protection as part of your retirement application. This video breaks down the process into a simple five-step guide, ensuring you're well-informed and prepared for the next chapter of your life. 👉 If you find this video helpful, please give it a thumbs up, and also subscribe to our channel for more informative videos about your pension. 1️⃣ Step 1: Begin by logging into My Pension Online (MPO) to complete your retirement application. If you're not registered yet, sign up on our website today: https://www.teacherspensions.co.uk/forms/registration.aspx For specific circumstances like Phased Retirement, postal applications are necessary. 2️⃣ Step 2: After submitting your application, it'll be processed by us or forwarded to your employer if you're still working. 3️⃣ Step 3: We'll notify you via email about messages in your MPO secure inbox. These messages will provide details about the choices you need to make for the remedy period of Transitional Protection. If you've applied via post, we'll contact you that way, but you'll also be able to access this information on MPO and can transition your application online if you wish. 4️⃣ Step 4: Complete and return your choices form. To help, we'll send you a Remediable Service Statement (RSS). This statement will clarify the choices you need to make for the remedy period (1 April 2015 and 31 March 2022). Your retirement application can't be finalised until we receive your completed choices form. 5️⃣ Step 5: After all steps are completed, we'll process your application, and you'll receive your award papers around your preferred retirement dates.
