Did you know this in murder drones? Recently the first chapter of the murder drones comic book series released. Is it any good? Let’s talk about it. So 8 months ago glitch raised 1.8 million dollars on kickstarter to adapt their murder drones series into a comic book format. At the end of february issue one finally released in stores, with issue two coming out in a week. I managed to get my hands on a copy. It’s basically just the pilot, with unique artwork and a couple changes. Let’s start with the things i liked. Firstly the comic is gorgeous. All of the covers are amazing, and the pages themselves look great. They nailed the artstyle. The comic itself is quite affordable, being about 4 pounds or 5 dollars. And just like the pilot itself it was fun, murder drones has alot of charm. There is however a bunch of problems. Firstly they made a bunch of changes that water down the experience. Some of the jokes are altered, like V’s sign or Uzi’s line about Thad. I have no clue why they changed these. The pacing is too fast, with V especially getting way less scenes in the comic. Anyone who hasn’t watched the pilot would struggle to know whats going on. The release of the comic itself was also a bit of a disaster, it’s ridiculously hard to obtain this physically for some reason. Most stores just don’t stock it. I think the culprit was because they had to do a second reprint. This is probably because a character called thad is instead called chad. This is unintentionally really funny. Overall i think it’s okay, it’s a neat collector’s piece if you collect merch. But in terms of being a good adaptation i think it’s missed the mark. So what do you think? Have you read the comic yet?
