I gotta get my beef on, what's your excuse? Characters Fought: Ash's Squirtle (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) Coincidentally, most of these characters were made by Blastoise. They seem to be the MUGEN author most interested in the genre of "particular individuals of a pokemon species, usually wearing something to make them stand out" and honestly I'm quite into it. This one, as the name implies, is Ash Ketchum's Squirtle in its Squirtle Squad uniform from Pokemon Journeys. It uses some manner of MvC template which is unfortunately a common beginner's trap when it comes to MUGEN character creation. Although despite that this one's thankfully quite manageable despite feeling overwhelming at times. Which makes sense 'cause this character actually had a hot-fix, which is nice. Dracyor (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) This is the first of the chars here that's somebody else's fan-made pokemon character. This one's a pretty cool looking Charmander. Although it's almost comedic how much pressure this character applies when they get close. Sometimes it feels like you need to get hit to get out of a blockstring. Torke (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) Similar to Dracyor this one's a cool looking gen 1 starter. Their voice lines are a mix between what I presume is a voiceover of whatever story they're from and MvC1 Captain America, which is fun. This one feels like it has smarter AI and the frame data is a bit less screwy, which is nice. Kyle the Squirtle (KTurner) This one's a weird outlier. It felt thematic but its sort of a hilarious mess. I can't make heads or tails of this character's gameplan but I think getting hit by that water gun instantly kills you. I also can't make heads or tails of this character in general, let me know if you have any idea what's going on. MvC2 Marble (WG8686) This one thankfully comes with a bit of backstory. This character come from a tale called, well, Tales of Tabira. A Machoke that works as a teacher for new recruits of what's know as the Trackers. And despite seeming cold and callous, she merely wants to impress her mentor. Also shoutouts to whoever made this character a female Machoke, it's always cool to see some use the less common gender of a species with a 1:4 gender ratio. Other than that this is fairly similar to WG8686's other MvC Machokes. With what looks like Zangief's body, at least that's what I'm guessing going off of the lariat animation. Vander (WG8686) Another Tracker from Tales of Tabira, and the leader no less. A hard-working family man who looks after his peers. I'm not entirely certain who this is a headswap of. I wanna make a wild guess and say... SvC Chaos Balrog? Is that even a thing? Jaron the Nidoking (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) Honestly this one might have my favorite design, it's a Nidoking knight in armor that reminds me of Adventurequest guardians with Ganondorf voice lines. Although sadly it's probably the most basic and broken out of all the MvC pokes Blastoise made, I would love to see a character design like this as a more fleshed out character. Glacie (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) Now we're finally getting to the Arceus Wish characters. These were brought up in a comment on another pokemon-centric video I made and I'm excited to finally look at some. Actually Torke might've been from that too but the download page didn't say anything about it. I've always had a soft spot for these weird pokemon fan-stories, especially if they're inspired by one of the greatest spin-offs of all time. The one thing I do wish from these characters is that they had more variety in their movepools, or at the very least an AI that shows that off better. Maybe try looking for another template 'cause this one doesn't seem to do any of these characters justice. Seth (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) This, or the Seth after this is probably the most competent character out of all of these. It may not look it but I'm pretty sure I saw the AI actually use a special, and they've got a whole bunch of voicelines from their source material, which is real cool. Seth (BlastoiseTheMugenCreator) I think technically this one's the most competent, the larger amount of frames on their normals really help it and I know I saw this one attempt a special. This description's getting too long so I'll just have to leave it at that. Characters Used: Scovillian (fu-lin) Onix (minoo) Incineroar (Crocok6) Torchic (YAMAKICHI) Wooper (Omega Clarens,PLUSIE,GikoArts) Jigglypuff (Dylanius9000) Zangoose (The 100 Mega Shock!)
