Despite the grind to unlock this course, DDR EXTREME2 is one of my favorite console DDR games next to MAX2 CS and EXTREME JP CS. They fixed the crappy UI from EXTREME US CS and FESTIVAL, and gave every single song in the game a unique background. That's what I call attention to detail. The backgrounds are still used in the arcade DDR's today, so that goes to show how influential this game was. And, remember when Americans got robbed of good songs? Well, not anymore. This mix delivers nearly everything that we were missing from the last three mixes, plus more. Although, despite all that, they still misspelled "Marvelous". Why? This course feels extremely (no pun intended) well designed. It features a lot of bangers from the early DDR mixes, a fair share of tricky songs like Infinite Prayer, Colors, and Sync, and a mini boss rush at the end with Paranoia Survivor, Cartoon Heroes, Sakura, and Paranoia Survivor Max. Daikenkai is the only real stinker chart in here. Although, for some bizarre reason, this course has so many songs with Challenge charts, and only three of them are used. I suppose that's for the easier difficulty where the Expert charts turn into Difficult and Challenge into Expert. Being familiar with most of the songs in this course, I was able to get this pass pretty quickly. Sync and Cartoon Heroes were my biggest roadblocks. Learning Sync was quite difficult and it's nerve-wracking to play, but I eventually figured out how to hit it. Cartoon Heroes is still, uh... I don't like the chart or song. I don't think they're bad, but I'd rather play something else. This is also the first course in this series (besides Breaking Point) where I can use mods. I actually can read 480 BPM, but Sakura was giving me trouble on 1.5x, so I decided to not use them. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how I did and only got a few misses, so yeah!
