🔴LIVE: India vs Pakistan Asian Games FinaI Cricket Match Score | IND vs PAK Live Last 5 Overs Busines Inquiry - [email protected] Eyeing their maiden Asian Games Men's Cricket Gold, Pakistan bump into the defending gold medalists and the three-time World Champions, India, in the final of the ongoing Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. The Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin will host the summit clash on Saturday [October 3], which is, interestingly, the mother of all battles. Recently, this hasn't been a rivalry, as the Men in Blue have taken the honours with ease. They have a 6-0 record against their neighbours in the last six contests and are expected to come out on top again. India have a star-studded set-up, while the Men in Green have sent a slightly new-look side with a new captain, but they don't lack talent in the squad. The best Pakistan have managed in the Asian Games Men's cricket competition is a Bronze Medal in Hangzhou in the last edition, while in the same tournament, their arch-rivals bagged their first-ever gold in men's cricket. The conditions in Nisshin have got better and better in recent times after a string of games getting washed out due to heavy rain. All four Quarter-Finals were abandoned without even the toss taking place, and higher-ranked teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh moved into the semi-finals without breaking a sweat. The pitch and outfield took a massive dent and were quite sluggish in the semis, with the spinners dominating the contests. The same can be expected in the Medal games. India faced an inexperienced Sri Lanka in the semis and outplayed the Island Nation by a thumping 124-run win to get a step closer to defending their gold medal. The Shreyas Iyer-led side added more firepower to their batting by bringing in Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to open the innings, at the expense of pacer Arshdeep Singh. Jasprit Bumrah was also back in the XI, with Shivam Dube being the only other player who could have bowled medium pace. With the pitch assisting the spinners, it was a smart call. Whether the team management sticks with the same XI or brings back a fast bowler in place of one of the spinners. However, it seems highly unlikely, with the defending champions needing extra options with the bat and in the spin department. Sooryavanshi did get off to a flyer, but the likes of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson couldn't get going. Samson was dropped to number three, while Ishan Kishan was moved to number 5. Shreyas struggled as well, but it was Kishan, who has been in a rich vein of form, batting brilliantly for his unbeaten 80 off 46 balls to propel the team to a challenging 169/7 in 20 overs after Sri Lanka asked the Indian outfit to bat first. Bumrah's first over was too hot for the rookie Lankan top order, while Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Abhishek weaved a spin web around their middle and lower order to bundle them out for just 45 inside the halfway mark. Three run-outs summed up how India played and how badly Sri Lanka played, as they registered their lowest T20I total.
