Hola todos, hello everyone, bonjour tout le monde! So I wanted to make a new video today and this one is titled: « LE DÉCLIN DU FRANÇAIS IS REAL! » and here it goes. So I want to break the news to everyone here in Québec, Canada, and the rest of the world: I want my language, Québécois French, to decline in Québec and go away and become the minority. I mean it. As of the 2021 Canadian census, it was 74.83% of people in Québec who spoke French as a first language, down from 77.10% in 2016, and 78.07% in 2011. And I predict that at this next Canadian census, in 2026, it will decline and be around 70 to 72%, and that trend will continue until less than 50% of Quebecers speak French as a first language. It will probably take less than 50 years for this to happen. I don't mind it at all. I want to live to see this actually. I am prepared. Le "déclin du français" as they say in French. It’s very real and it’s happening right as we speak. It will be uncomfortable and sad for people who care about the French language, but I stopped caring years ago. Because I practice my English every day now in the eventually that French will indeed go away, and I hope it will. I talk to myself out loud in English every day now, so it’s like I’ve already been assimilated into the English language. I listen to English music all of the time, I communicate in English every day on social media, and I consume mainly English culture daily. I love international French, real French, but Québécois French is ugly and deserves to be replaced by English. I will only continue to speak in French to family members, and the rest of the time I will talk in English. I will actually ask my parents if they believe that French will ever become a minority language inside of Québec, and how long it will take for it to happen if it happens one day, and I can’t wait to hear what they have to say about it. Because they are not bilingual whatsoever and do not speak English. So I wonder how they feel about this. Maybe they don’t think it will happen and that their language is safe, but who knows. Donald J. Trump won’t even need to make Canada the USA’s 51st state to assimilate francophone Canadians into the English language, I believe it will happen organically without Canada needing to join the USA. It’s always been our destiny. New-France/la Nouvelle-France has been dead since 1763, so for 262 years, and our future is going to be in English. We should tell immigrants who settle in Québec to not even bother learning French anymore, and to just talk in English from now on. Because that is the only language they will need to know in this province and country. That is what I believe today. And I am perfectly fine and okay with this.
