This video is for Sunshine State Sonar. Three volunteers, Mike Sullivan, his brother John Martin, and Shelly McKinney, have brought 20 missing people home across Florida since January 2023, and Mike learned to read sonar by watching our videos. Libby DiBenedetto was the name on their list from their very first search. Please follow them and share their work. 🔎 FOLLOW SUNSHINE STATE SONAR Website: https://sunshinestatesonar.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Sunshinestatesonar YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Sunshinestatesonar Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sunshinestatesonar_ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sunshinestatesonar In April 2000, Libby DiBenedetto, a 35-year-old mother of three, left a night out with coworkers at Duke's Bar and Grill in Davie, Florida, made one last phone call from a payphone near Pine Island Road and Sunrise Boulevard, and vanished with her 1996 Toyota Camry. For two and a half years, Sunshine State Sonar searched more than 300 ponds across Broward County looking for her. In January 2024 we went down to Florida to work their list with them. Day one, we found Maureen Sherman, missing 38 years, in the 24th car in a Miami canal. Day two, searching for Libby at a mall pond in Sunrise, we found a car nobody knew was there, and it brought Kareem Tisdale home. Libby was half a mile away. Fifteen months later, on April 6, 2025, on their way to the airport, Sunshine State Sonar put the boat in one more pond. Thirteen feet down was Libby's Camry. Sunshine State Sonar closes its doors on December 31, 2026. Mike, John, Shelly: you learned this by rewinding our videos, and then you went out and found Libby. Thank you for every single pond.
