Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvhXvqERMks Piano transcription for Michiru's first original "Potion." A very catchy, jazzy, and memorable melody piece. Was very fun transcribing this. Not designed to be actually played, but this is definitely doable if converted to duet-style. Started transcribing this piece the moment I finished listening to this song when it dropped. Enjoy! . . . Notes: I haven't transcribed this kind of piece for quite a while, and I do enjoy transcribing this style. The only down side is that, it's hard to switch styles in my opinion, so this tends to be one-tracked, but that can also be a good thing. I don't think I was good enough to satisfyingly transcribed this piece, since there were so much small details that I wanted to include, but did not knew how. Nonetheless, this is what I managed to make within the small time frame of 2-3 days. This is definitely decently complex for me, and I think quality dropped over time. Section A is definitely my favorite part melodically speaking, and is the most iconic section of this piece. It is a simple melody, with a simple beat. Variation is small, so it makes this pretty memorable and catchy. The work on the chorus was done in a clever manner. The hardest part was Section C. I had NO idea how to do this part. In the end, I decided to break the pattern, and chose more legato/relaxed approach, and then escalate back to the jumpy base. The part when second chorus came in, Section H, was very worrisome, since considering that this kind of music, I was not good at variety (the chorus changes), but the original music had some good details to use, so that was used. The piece ends like that (M3). Open ending.
