The Problem May Not Be the Blades! • This is an interesting and fairly common problem on higher-mileage vehicles. The owner starts noticing an annoying squeaking noise when the windshield wipers are operating, and the first thing they usually replace is the wiper blades. • Different brands are tried, more expensive blades, cheaper blades, and sometimes the noise disappears - but often only for a short time. Eventually, the squeaking comes back. • A new washer fluid may be added as well, but if the problem keeps returning, the real cause may be much deeper - inside the windshield wiper linkage mechanism. • On many designs, parts of the wiper linkage operate on sliding bushings that require periodic lubrication and maintenance. Over time, the lubricant can be washed out or worn away, especially with constant exposure to moisture. • Once the lubrication is gone, the moving parts start working almost dry. Moisture gets inside, corrosion develops, and dirt can turn into a fine abrasive material that causes the components to rub against each other inside the bushings. • This can eventually create the annoying squeaking noise while the wipers are operating, even though the wiper blades themselves may be perfectly fine. • In this video, I show how to remove the wiper arms using a proper puller, access the linkage mechanism and inspect the moving components. • We’ll check the condition of the bushings and joints and find out whether the actual source of the squeaking is inside the wiper linkage. • Sometimes the problem isn’t with the part you keep replacing - you just need to look a little deeper. • #supermechanik #artempankovich #carservice #goldenhandsmechanic #Autos #CarRepair #AutoTips #MechanicTools #ŃŃƒŠæŠµŃ€Š¼ŠµŠ³Š°Š°Š²Ń‚Š¾ŃŠ»ŠµŃŠ°Ń€ŃŒ
