#VxLAN technical deep dive! VxLAN creates virtual layer-2 networks in an overlay network. They are called VNI’s. During encapsulation, the VTEP adds extra headers, using a specific frame format. This is to pass this traffic over the underlay network in a tunnel, using routing. In this training video, we’re going beyond the basic concepts, in a deep dive look at the #encapsulation process, and the headers that VxLAN use. The VxLAN vs #VLAN differences are further explained here. We’ll consider some more VxLAN terminology, and provide a primer to the VxLAN packet flow.
