As a note, there are some characters with an alternate costume choice....but they are few and far between...and I have to warn you, most of them happen to be like this one: uniforms for Karakura High, because apparently soul reapers on duty in the real world have nothing better to do than jump in a gigai and hang out with Ichigo like they're supposed to be classmates or something. I wonder how much memory rearrangement they have to do in the process...might as well just pretend to be regular people or skip the gigai altogether, since being able to patrol the city invisibly and fight Hollows the whole time sounds kinda like...well, their jobs. Silly me, I guess. Now here's a pretty interesting guy...if you can get over his initial abrasiveness and appreciate the value of his twisted outlook on life. And to be totally honest, I don't think his hairstyle is all that beautiful...so if he's going to lecture people, he might want to get whatever the heck is up with those three colorful bits of...I guess it's his hair, out of the way first. That and I don't really dig the bowl cut he's got going on besides that. It's only attractive in guys if it's unkempt and settles that way on its own...but poor Yumichika is so proud of all that work he apparently puts into his bowl. It's kinda sad, really, because he's not too hard on the eyes besides that. His sword, on the other hand, doesn't really do it for me. It's like a rake-sickle and somehow I imagine having that many blades is more of a detriment than an advantage. I mean, he doesn't get any really good range out of it if you think about it...and the extra blades probably add extra resistance when he swings. Oh well, I bet it's a sign of how Fuji Kujaku hates Yumichika for calling it by that name...but I'll say no more on that subject, the time is not right. Incidentally, Yumichika seems to have this problem, since most English speakers in the show's cast are trying to pronounce his name "Yumi-cheek-a"...when it's actually "Yumeech-ka"...the "i" is there, but only because it's there and understated in his name, because Japanese is a syllabary and there will always be a vowel sound attached to a consonant sound, even if it's not strongly pronounced. At least Yumichika can pronounce his own name, but too bad it's always going to be everybody else who will be saying it. Being beautiful with a beautiful name must be rather difficult. Anyway, the only soul reaper alive who has ever seen Yumichika's zanpakuto use any abilities besides transforming into the aforementioned rake-sickle is in fact Shuhei Hisagi. Apparently the fact that it has some kido-based abilities is looked down upon as an unwritten rule in Squad 11...so he especially wants to keep it a secret from Ikkaku and his captain. Don't tell anybody, okay? Yumichika's attacks are actually rather plain, somehow represented by peacock feathers. He does get to have a trap like Ukitake's...but being rather small and highly visible, like all traps, limits their effectiveness when laid against a wary foe. Yumichika's ultimate attack has also got to be one of the weakest in the game...I should think that it ought to heal him by as much damage as he deals to his opponent, but I guess that might be a bit much to ask for. Just my two cents on that one.
