But things took a completely unexpected turn when pranksters began placing fake Cash on Delivery (COD) orders in his name. The unwanted deliveries included televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and other household items. One television order was reportedly worth ₹1.69 lakh, leaving him struggling to deal with the repeated deliveries and calls. Things got even more bizarre when fake social media posts claimed that a ₹70-crore T-90 military tank, an ambulance and even a rocket had been ordered for him. These were false online claims, not confirmed deliveries. Veeramani appealed to people to stop the prank, explaining that delivery workers were also being troubled by orders they had to bring to his address. In one video, he said that 15 orders had arrived within just half an hour. Eventually, the harassment forced him to leave town. What started as a simple request for Diwali sweets turned into a deeply stressful experience. A reminder for everyone: Never share your home address or personal phone number publicly on social media.
