The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdf Wars were once fought with tanks, missiles, and soldiers on visible battlefields. Today, however, a new kind of conflict is unfolding silently in cyberspace. Nations are attacking each other not with bombs, but with lines of malicious code capable of shutting down power grids, disrupting hospitals, stealing sensitive data, and influencing millions of people without a single shot being fired. This talk explores the growing reality of the Silent Cyber War through powerful real-world incidents. From the mysterious blackout in Mumbai during the India-China standoff, to the covert cyber weapon "Stuxnet" that targeted Iran’s nuclear program, and the devastating "WannaCry" ransomware attack that crippled hospitals and businesses across 150 countries, these cases reveal how cyber weapons have evolved into powerful tools of modern warfare. It also examines attacks like the Sony Pictures hack and the rise of state-backed "Advanced Persistent Threat (APT)" groups that operate as invisible digital armies. As India rapidly expands its digital infrastructure through initiatives like Digital India, Aadhaar, and UPI, the country has become both technologically empowered and increasingly vulnerable. This talk highlights why cybersecurity is no longer just a government or corporate concern, it directly affects every citizen. In the silent cyber war, awareness, vigilance, and responsible digital behavior may be our most powerful defense. Nitin Pandey is a global cybersecurity researcher and veteran in the industry with over a decade and a half of experience. He has served in roles such as Security Researcher & Senior Trainer at CyberPeace Foundation, Technical Manager at Kailash Satyarthi Foundation, and Senior Cybercrime & Intelligence Consultant with Uttar Pradesh Police. His core expertise spans areas including dark web analysis, cyber warfare, cybercrime investigations, digital forensics, social-media crime investigation, open-source intelligence (OSINT), child safety, women’s online safety, financial frauds, anti-human-trafficking and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) tracing. He has also developed an intelligence framework tool called “iHUNT” and spearheads initiatives to empower vulnerable groups online. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
