Explore US Proposes $70,000 OPT Fee: Who Pays, and What Happens Next? with 43,610 views, 704 likes, and 95 comments. Experience the impact of this video content that has captured audience attention.

Could gaining work experience after a US degree become dramatically more expensive? The Trump administration has proposed a $70,000 initial Optional Practical Training fee and $30,000 for subsequent OPT recommendations. Schools would pay the government, but students and employers could ultimately bear the cost. These fees are proposed—not currently in effect. Sree Iyer examines the implications for Indian students, families financing overseas education, universities and employers. In this discussion: • Who would pay—and could universities pass the expense to students? • How could the proposal change the economics of studying in America? • What questions should current students and prospective applicants ask their universities? • Could reduced international enrollment hurt universities and local economies? • Can India strengthen its own STEM institutions by attracting experienced academics from abroad? Enrollment declines, university job losses and political motivations are possibilities discussed in the video, not established outcomes. #OPT #STEMOPT #StudyInUSA #IndianStudents #USImmigration #SreeIyer #PGurus 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦: 1. https://quantusinsights.org/polling/f/michigan-senate-el-sayed-48-rogers-47-at-four-weeks-https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trump-administration-proposes-a-70000-fee-for-international-students-to-work-in-the-u-s 2. https://time.com/article/2026/10/08/international-student-training-opt-fee-work-trump-administration/ 3. https://www.livemint.com/news/us-news/trumps-70-000-opt-fee-proposal-for-international-students-explained-what-is-opt-and-who-will-bear-the-cost-11791403313610.html 4. https://eiglaw.com/dhs-proposes-70000-opt-fee-and-30000-stem-opt-fee-for-international-students/ 𝗕𝘂𝘆 the latest book by Sree Iyer, 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿 here: https://sreeiyer.com/books/Operation-Bhasmasur 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 to our 𝗣𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 - http://ow.ly/SsJV50OEVjq 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5oAOrsfqTxLOmFNuK_S8ug/join Now get regular updates on 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙨𝘼𝙥𝙥, 𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 +12342559123, and we will add you to 1 of the 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙨 Do Join our 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀 for Regular Updates - https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va9icyxFHWpve1jVdH2t 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦: Sree Iyer's 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 Book 4 - 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻, 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁 can be bought from: 1.
