A full flight video from onboard EasyJets 3 month old A320 G-EZRT on flight U26497 from Newcastle Airport to Malta. Once we arrived at the bag-drop desk we decided to put our 2cnd smaller suitcase into the hold at the cost of only £6 (as we had only booked 1 hold case from the outset) this not only disposed of the case and save time and hassle in carting it around, but it also entitled us to priority boarding when we arrived at the gate. After that we made our way through to secuirty, which as always at Newcastle was quick , efficent and friendly. A quick stop off at the Flying Hippo to take advantage of the stunning views the cafe/restaurant has to offer overlooking the airport. After a refreshing drink each we casually made our way to Gate 8 with precious minutes to spare. On arriving at the gate our boarding passes were scanned, passports viewed and we were ushered into the lounge to await the boarding announcement. No sooner had we been about to sit down did the announcement for priority boarding soon follow. So without even having sat down we made our way straight to the aircraft, this was a great advantage as I was taking my 78yr old grandmother to Malta on holiday there for her very first time. Once we boarded and greeted by the friendly cabin crew we took our seats, stowed our luggage under the seat in front of us and settled in for our 3 and a half hour flight to the Maltese Islands. With boarding complete ,followed by our captains announcement ,our pushback began with the crew ably performing the safety demonstration. We taxied out to runway 25 and swiftly departed, with spectacular views overlooking Newcastle and the city right across to the coast. Upon reaching 37,000ft it was time for something to eat. Each of us had purchased the £3.99 meal deal (available in the Terminal at any WHSmith newsagent) comprising of a sandwich , drink and snack. This workd out £2.01 cheaper than what EasyJet offer onboard in the form of their MealDeal. Our flight south took us over London Heathrow before a clearing in the cloud below revealed the gleaming white cliffs of Dover with France clearly visible on the other side of the English Channel. (Please take a look at the photos from 11:09 ) We then continued south over France passing over Paris before a clearing in the sky around an hour later revealed the beautiful Swiss Alps with Milan clearly visible 30 minutes later. As the sun began to set there was not a great deal to film. Our descent over Sicily began and within no time we were landing on runway 31 at Malta International Airport. By far one of the smoothest landings I have ever experienced and flights too for that matter. Once we arrived on our remote stand & engines shutdown I paid a quick visit to the cockpit where the crew were outstanding in how friendly and welcoming they were. A quick bus ride to the terminal concluded yet another great experience with EasyJet. Overall another fantastic experience with a carrier which seems to get better each time I fly with them.
