What if the biggest problem in economic policymaking isn't our inability to predict the future, but our tendency to prepare for only one possible outcome? This December, the **Global Forecasting School** brings together policymakers, economists, and researchers in Prague for three days of intensive learning, practical policy analysis, and discussions about the future of economic policymaking. From **December 7โ9, 2026**, the workshop will feature two major book discussions exploring how policymakers can navigate uncertainty, financial instability, and increasingly constrained policy space. ๐ December 7 | Prudent Risk Management Approach to Price Stability A discussion featuring Narek Ghazaryan and Vazgen Poghosyan from the Central Bank of Armenia, exploring the practical implementation of scenario-based monetary policymaking, risk management, transparency, and accountability. ๐ December 8 | The New Era of Constrained Policy Space A featured discussion with co-editor Rania Al-Mashat on the challenges of the Effective Lower Bound and Effective Upper Bound, and the importance of the Three Cs: comprehensive policies, consistent frameworks, and coordination. What makes this workshop different? Participants will go beyond traditional lectures to explore alternative economic scenarios, work with modern macroeconomic models, evaluate policy trade-offs, and discover how artificial intelligence can support better economic analysis. In this video, Salome Mkervalidze, a Level One student at the Global Forecasting School, joins Douglas Laxton, former Head of the Economic Modeling Division in the IMF's Research Department, to introduce the workshop and explain why economic policymaking needs to evolve. ๐ Prague, Czech Republic ๐ December 7โ9, 2026 ๐ฉ For participation inquiries: Asya Kostanyan โ [email protected] ๐ https://ai-powered-learning.org ๐ https://thebetterpolicyproject.org Join us in exploring how better frameworks, responsible AI, and critical thinking can lead to better economic policy decisions. #GlobalForecastingSchool #Prague2026 #EconomicPolicy #Macroeconomics #CentralBanking #MonetaryPolicy #FiscalPolicy #RiskManagement #ArtificialIntelligence #BetterPolicyProject
