This is a track from the "Blade Runner" soundtrack, written, arranged and performed by Vangelis. I got the idea from freddy279's video about the Seveso disaster. Plus, I always wanted to upload this piece, as it is not only one of the most prominent pieces in the film but also because of its forceful, dramatic sound. For my video, I decided to make it about a disaster that happened in my country - the Halifax explosion of 1917. Of course, the music was not inspired by the disaster in question, I just thought that it would fit well with the events depicted. Also, it is NOT, repeat NOT, my intention to glorify the disaster in this video. If anything, it's intended as a memorial to those who died. Please note that not all of the photos are actually taken from the disaster (specifically the images of the burning ship, the exploding ship, the collision, the fiery mushroom cloud, and the shockwave) but are intended to give you an idea of just what happened. (For those who don't know much about Canadian history, the Halifax explosion occurred when a munitions ship, the Mont-Blanc, scratched the surface of a relief vessel, the Imo, causing sparks which ignited its cargo. The resulting explosion flattened the city, killing more than 1,900 people and injuring at least 9,000.)
