Good morning from my balcony⌠in my mumu⌠in full morning mess mode. âď¸â¨ Before we start â yes, I look like I just rolled out of bed. Because I did. And thatâs intentional. A sub-theme of everything I teach is this: humans are beautifully imperfect. So much anxiety, shame, and mental health distress comes from perfectionism. And perfectionism doesnât just appear out of nowhere â it grows in toxic environments that taught us we had to be flawless to be safe, loved, or accepted. I might as well start with my own imperfections to break that spell! Anyway⌠I digress. This vlog is about something I coined: The Trauma Lasagna. đ (A Claudism.) I share a story about being in Singapore â bucket list place, peaceful, elegant, dreamy â riding a bicycle, living my best life. And yet one morning I woke up internally arguing with my ex-mother-in-law⌠someone I havenât seen in ten years. Why? Because trauma detox doesnât happen all at once. Old memories, arguments, emotional charges â they resurface not because youâre regressing, but because youâre de-layering. Trauma is layered like a lasagna: ⢠Over-responsibility ⢠Hypervigilance ⢠Rushing ⢠Fear of punishment ⢠Emotional memory stored in the body And if youâre an Empath, highly sensitive, a saver, a fixer, a former codependent â you might wake up already carrying the emotional weight of the world. Thatâs not random. Thatâs a layer. In this vlog I walk you through: 1ď¸âŁ Becoming the observer 2ď¸âŁ Moving it into the body (because trauma is non-verbal and somatic) 3ď¸âŁ Breathing and telling your nervous system: âI am here now. I am safe now. This is not my life now.â 4ď¸âŁ De-layering and consciously installing a new embodied layer â calm, choice, regulation, sovereignty. We donât rip the whole lasagna out in one day. We gently remove a layer when we catch it. And yes â rushing is a trauma hack. If youâre rushing, you probably feel unconsciously that something bad will happen if you donât. It's one of the trauma layers. ⨠This is psycho-spiritual healing. ⨠This is nervous system work. ⨠This is loving yourself through detox. Welcome to the Trauma Lasagna.
