My GR221 hiking guide: all 5 days with maps, elevation profiles, GPX files, water stops, refuges and buses. $19 at https://kraigadams.com/guides/gr221?ref=yt-desc-pB1rFD-5AnU In March, I hiked 80 miles alone across the GR221 on the island of Mallorca. This is the full behind-the-scenes version of that hike. I walk through each day of the route, how I moved through the trail, and everything I experienced along the way. Four full days of hiking. Since it was early in the hiking season, none of the huts were open yet so I slept 3 nights in my tent and 1 night in a hotel to recharge batteries. There were only a handful of other hikers doing the full traverse similar to me but hundreds of cyclists on every paved road on the Island. I carried everything for the trip with me and felt super efficient with both the production and thru-hike. Weather was perfect with a puff jacket needed for the chilly mornings waking up in my tent and shorts for the rest of the day. I’m growing fond of these early Spring Island hikes with this Balearic trip following previous ones like Canary, Azores and Madeira. It felt so good going at my true pace, experiencing Spanish Island culture and escaping the bitter NYC winter cold for a week. I’m feeling good and excited to share not only this video with you all but this return to a format that started this whole thing. Thanks for supporting me and I hope this helps you follow in my footsteps and hike the trail yourself. 00:00 Getting to the trailhead: Palma to Port d'Andratx 1:39 Day 1: Port d'Andratx and Sant Elm 7:23 Day 2: On to Estellencs and Banyalbufar 11:10 Day 3: Banyalbufar to Deià 16:59 Day 4: Deià over Coll des Prat 20:26 Day 5: Down to Lluc and Pollença 23:32 Gear The full silent film of the whole route: https://youtu.be/soS_3OGcghc AllTrails+ (30% off) https://geni.us/GxUYfx Music licensed with Musicbed https://fm.pxf.io/kraigadamsfreetrial What I used on this trip Camera https://geni.us/JAdlk Lens https://geni.us/Pfbk7AQ Drone https://geni.us/keWvJYl 55L Pack https://geni.us/Sd8zhiO Tent https://geni.us/hel4P Quilt https://geni.us/rrnxH Shoes https://geni.us/UZnh2LL Everything I carry now: https://kraigadams.com/gear Some links are affiliate links.
