Disco was so wildly popular because it united people, helping them get dressed up and go out to boogie all night long. Hell, I was going out maybe four or five times a week, that would be Thursday night to Sunday and sometimes Wednesdays...It was my social media. There were so many studio groups that existed for just one single and then their star burned out and nothing further was heard from them. Part of this was due to the production styles used, you could instantly identify a Chic production, or a Donna Summer one they had a consistent sound that appealed to just about everyone and those songs became huge hits. One of these is a studio group named The Bombers, who were Canadian producers Pat Deserio and George Langlois. Pat had already formed Kebekelektrik with keyboardist Gino Soccio who was a University Of Montreal student. Inspired by the electronic dance beats of Giorgio Moroder used with Donna Summer for her iconic "I Feel Love", they crafted an album of four songs, a disco cover of Ravel's "Bolero" and their cover of Space's "Magic Fly" that outsold the original along with two originals, "Mirage" and "War Dance". Bolero never charted but the other three did, peaking at #9 on the disco chart. Soccio departed to concentrate on a solo career. Deserio (no relation to Teri DeSerio) then hooked up with producer George Lagios and formed The Bombers in 1978. The first album contained a disco updating of Babe Ruth's "The Mexican" that was a club staple in the early days of disco that did not chart. Their next endeavor was more accessible and "(Everybody) Get Dancin'" that peaked at #3 disco. Lead vocals were handled by Tamara Lorincz with sisters Heather Gauthier and Mary-Lou Gauthier on backgrounds. The male vocal was sung by bassist Mack Jones. It was their last known recording. Desario also had a hand in band Bob A Rela, and rocked out in Dogs Of War and Rational Youth. He passed away on April 1, 1990 at the age of 40.
