As a history teacher, I am not a fan of making students memorize historical dates. That said, many Americans memorize these four important historical dates, anyway. #ushistory #americanhistory #history Sources/further reading: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/spicer-dday-tweet/ Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmYesELO6axBrCuSpf7S9DQ/join For business inquiries or to send snail mail to Mr. Beat: https://www.iammrbeat.com/contact.html https://www.youtube.com/c/iammrbeat/about Connect with me: https://linktr.ee/iammrbeat Mr. Beat’s website: https://www.iammrbeat.com/ Mr. Beat’s second channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheBeatGoesOn1981 Mr. Beat's band: https://electricneedleroom.us/ How to support Mr. Beat: šŸ’°Donate to Mr. Beat for great perks on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/iammrbeat šŸ¤‘Donate to Mr. Beat on Paypal: https://www.paypal.me/mrbeat ā˜•Buy Mr. Beat a coffee: https://ko-fi.com/iammrbeat ā€œFreeā€ ways to show support: āœ”ļøSubscribe to my channel ā°Turn on notifications šŸ‘Like, share, and comment on my videos Buy Mr. Beat merch: https://matt-beat-shop.fourthwall.com/ https://www.bonfire.com/store/mr-beat/ https://sfsf.shop/support-mrbeat/ Buy Mr. Beat's book: https://amzn.to/386g7cz Amazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.com/shop/mr.beat Affiliate Links: Useful Charts: https://usefulcharts.com/?aff=12 Kids Connect: https://kidskonnect.com/?ref=iammrbeat Ekster: https://ekster.com?sca_ref=444709.jvllq3EEOm Shampoo: https://rb.gy/vlqeym Acne fighter: https://rb.gy/a6dnb0 On December 7th, 2022, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer Tweeted out ā€œToday is D-Day.ā€ Only it wasn’t. He mixed D-Day up with National Pearl Harbor Day. But go easy on him, ok. As a history teacher, I’m actually not a big fan of making people memorize dates. But he probably got so much crap since he mixed up two of the FEW important historical dates that most Americans remember. December 7, 1941, which was the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and June 6, 1944, or D-Day, the day the Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy to liberate France from Nazi Germany. Other dates that Americans tend to remember? July 4, 1776, the day that celebrates the Declaration of Independence and the United States becoming a country. September 11, 2001, the day terrorists took over planes and crashed them into American buildings, killing thousands. I mean, most of us lived through it, and it’s often just called 9/11. But that’s uh…that’s kind of it. We tend to remember just those four dates.
