This is my playthrough of the recently released "An Ordinary Sonic Fangame" created by @his_legacy, which is based off of the 2013 Sonic the Hedgehog ROM hack, "An Ordinary Sonic ROM Hack" by Cinossu. Unlike that Genesis ROM hack however, this fangame aims to pick off where the original left off and corrupt the remaining levels that weren't previously modified, complete with a reworked AI for X, new sprite work, two amazing soundtracks, lots of customization, and extra game modes. Furthermore, you can even play as either Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. In this playthrough I play as Sonic using the S1 moveset, meaning no spindash, no dropdash, no super peel out, no insta-shield/twin spin attack, and roll lock is enabled (Thankfully ground and air speed caps aren't present). I also turned off infinite lives to make things much more challenging. Do keep in mind that during gameplay I do have to restart the level from time to time, whether it be because I start off the level in X's world or because I fatally mess up the run and cannot continue. Also this is the first public build of the game to be released, so many things remain unfinished. Special stages are not implemented yet, some zones and acts haven't been added, the framework is still supposedly a work in progress, and X's AI is reportedly too difficult for most players, which is why he'll be receiving an overhaul next release according to the developer. We'll see if I decide to cover the next update, because I'm especially looking forward to more of the extra game modes that are currently in the works.
