A big marble race I made in Blender! It is a hand-made, animated 3D marble championship: Five races, 10 colors. The track for this race includes fun firsts like a loop and a tunnel! The tunnel isn't really significant for the race in that marbles can't overtake in the tunnel, but it looks pretty so it's in the race. :) Pick your color and good luck! May the best marble win! Chapters: Marble Race 1 0:00 Marble Race 2 4:04 Marble Race 3 7:52 Marble Race 4 11:43 Marble Race 5 15:40 Tiebreaker Race: 19:25 Podiums: 21:06 Replays 21:18 Process: This is a 3D animation hand-created in Blender. I don't control the race outcomes. I build the tracks and I release the marbles. The outcomes are down to complex simulated physics built into the software. Additional graphics created by me in Affinity Designer. Stock images from Poly Haven and Pexels. Technical Details: 3D Software: Blender 4.0, using rigid body animation. (Yes, I still use Blender 4.0, because I prefer the older EEVEE render engine!) Render Engine: EEVEE Render Specs: 4K UHDTV, 60 frames per second. 2D Software: Affinity Designer 2 Final Editing: Blender 4.0 (and sometimes Davinci Resolve) Time per video (rough avg.): 40 hours for 3D modelling, 10 hours physics testing, 2 hours camera keyframing, 20 to 30 hours rendering, 20 hours for sound and final editing. Music: All tracks except the last one are by Frank Schruter. Check him out on Pond5. 1. Synthiemania by Frank Schroeter 2. Chain Reaction by Frank Schroeter 3. Impulse by Frank Schroeter 4. No points for spotting that it is an animation. Created by me in Blender with love, using the built in simulated physics in Blender. It is primarily a race, but I focus on the visual sensory/ASMR aspect. I don't control the outcomes of my marble races. I build the tracks, I set the marbles and I let them go! Whoever gets to the bottom first is the winner! :)
