"為了救援、八八水災的受災戶，許多民間團體紛紛號召民眾捐款到災區，估計近來國內就有將近一百個單位發起勸募活動，但這樣大規模的募款動員，許多民眾捐出來的錢，卻不一定能發揮效用。 目前經由內政部和地方政府許可，能辦理八八水災勸募的單位只有36個，其中內政部到17號為止，已經募得超過13億9千多萬，大型的民間團體紅十字會，截至18號上午，也累積13億捐款，但內政部初估，這次受災的救助和重建經費，需要50多億元，但負責統籌內政部賑災專戶的「賑災基金會」裡頭，還有經費，會先用來做這次災民的生活救助、居家安置等計劃，目前經費應該沒有問題 同樣有募得捐款的紅十字總會，雖然已投入多樣救災項目，不過更希望災區各縣市政府，能主動反應災民需求，讓大眾愛心能充分利用。 另外民間自律聯盟，也呼籲民眾在捐款前，一定要確認合法立案的組織，了解勸募的計劃和對象，最重要是持續追蹤捐款的成果，才能讓付出的愛心，真正幫助到災民。 "
