This is part 9 of my 1985 Honda ATC 125M Three Wheeler conversion bike custom build and restoration series. I did a whole lot of rust repair, cutting, welding, sanding and painting to get to where we are today. This week I keep on with the body work on the dual headlights and custom fiberglass side panels. The dual headlights on the dirt bike are just a couple of headlights off a 1978 ATC90 3 wheeler. I just bolted the two together, welded some brackets on to the ATC185S (or maybe ATC200S) fork and did some welding and patching and body work. I used Bondo long strand fiberglass filler from Walmart over my welds, then used some normal Bondo filler to smooth everything out. After the filler work was done, I sprayed the headlights with some PPG Shopline polyester filler primer and sanded the body work perfectly smooth. I then used some Audi S4 blue pearl single stage urethane paint. It turned out great! After the body work I worked on some odds and ends like rebuilding and assembling the brakes. I used some generic brake levers and cables off ebay and amazon. I modified the original ATC 125 wiring harness to fit the frame. Everything is soldered up and heat shrink really nice so it should be good to go forever. It is going to be super cool having electric start!!! I had to make a custom bracket out of sheet metal to hold the starter relay. I wish I would have done this before I painted the frame but ahh well. After the engine wiring was done, I used a little tygon fuel line and a added a little fuel and the old junk yard engine fired right up! The last thing I needed to do was build a wiring harness from scratch for the dual headlights. I wired the bulbs in parallel and used some H3 LED bulbs so I wouldn't draw too much amperage through the old stock wiring harness.
