Pineapple dump cake layers crushed pineapple and pineapple chunks with coconut and vanilla topped with maraschino cherries and a buttery cake mix crumble — baked until golden and bubbling and served warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The perfect sweet Friday surprise after a week of comfort food dinners — very easy, very tropical and very unexpected. The coconut mixed into the pineapple layer toasts slightly as it bakes and makes this completely different from any dump cake you've made before. #pineappledumpcake #dumpcake #easydessert RECIPE — Pineapple Dump Cake Ingredients: • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, not drained • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, not drained • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1 jar maraschino cherries, drained • 1 box yellow or butter cake mix • 1 stick butter, melted • Vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for serving Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish. 2. Mix crushed pineapple, pineapple chunks, coconut and vanilla together. Spread evenly in the bottom of the dish. 3. Scatter maraschino cherries evenly over the pineapple layer. 4. Mix cake mix with melted butter until crumbly. Scatter evenly over the top. 5. Bake 40-45 minutes until topping is golden and pineapple is bubbling. 6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Tips: ★ Don't drain the pineapple — the juice is what makes the filling incredibly moist and flavorful. ★ Mixing the butter into the cake mix before scattering gives you a much better crumble texture. ★ The coconut mixed into the pineapple layer toasts slightly as it bakes — very beautiful and very unexpected. ★ Serve immediately while warm — the contrast of warm dump cake and cold ice cream is everything.
