https://kinsmanchurch.com/ No Condemnation" — Daniel Anderson Kinsman Baptist Church, Geelong — Sunday 19 July 2026 This morning Daniel Anderson took us to John 8:1–11, the account of the woman caught in adultery, in a message titled "No Condemnation." Daniel began by looking honestly at our own setting. We don't have stained glass. We don't have a beautiful, imposing building. And people often associate those things with God moving; as though grandeur is the evidence of His presence. But the true reality, Daniel reminded us, is that God wants to live in you. There is no New Testament command to build a beautiful church building. Search the epistles and you won't find one. What you will find is this: when believers gather together to hear God's Word, to pray, and to sing, they are the church. The church was never bricks and mortar. It is people. And what kind of people? The church is made up of people who have sinned, who are sinning, and who have problems and hang-ups. We've all had the experience of inviting someone along to church only to hear, "No mate, the roof would fall in on me." Behind the joke sits a serious misunderstanding; people conclude that the church is full of perfect people, and that they could never belong. The truth is that the church is not like that at all. Daniel offered a picture that stuck with many of us: the church is more like a panel shop. It's full of people who've been written off. Full of rust. Bent out of shape. Dented, scratched, and in some cases barely roadworthy. And that's exactly the point; a panel shop is where damaged things go to be restored, not rejected. God gathers imperfect people, with sin and problems, and that is okay. Because God is in the restoration business, and He has not given up on any of us. That's precisely what we see in John 8. The scribes and Pharisees drag a woman before Jesus, exposed in her sin, wanting her written off; condemned, finished, scrapped. But Jesus, who had spent the night on the Mount of Olives, refuses to join the stone-throwers. "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." One by one the accusers walk away, until only Jesus (the only one actually qualified to condemn) remains. And His word to her is the word He speaks to every rusted, dented person who comes to Him: "Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more." Daniel closed with a line that drew a few smiles but landed with real weight: what's done on the Mount of Olives stays on the Mount of Olives. When Jesus deals with your sin, it is dealt with. No record kept, no charge carried forward, no condemnation. So don't wait until you're fixed up before you come to God. Come as you are; the Restorer is waiting, and the panel shop is open.
