This is the world premiere of one of my favorite units of "THE ROBERT STEWART EXPERIENCE" over the three decade time span of it's existence. The band included: Maestro ED KELLY on piano. Playing with him was like playing with Duke Ellington or Count Basie. He was constantly LISTENING to the soloist and accompanying with the perfect chords and inflections; to consistently deliver such without ever having to be instructed to do so requires a PURE SPIRIT, indeed. Drummer BABATUNDE LEA was the closest musician to drummer TONY WILLIAMS that I've had in my regular band. Like Ed Kelly, Babatunde was always listening intensely to the soloists and accompanying with the perfect drum-fills and accents. He is the epitome of VOLCANIC EXPLOSION with FINESSE (dynamics!). To consistently deliver such without ever having to be instructed to do so requires a PURE SPIRIT, indeed. All of the above holds true for my bassist RON BELCHER. Not only is he a ROCK SOLID GROOVE MACHINE, he also followed Babatunde, Ed, and myself, in whatever direction that we would go. You will see what I mean when you hear him. It was like playing with RON CARTER himself. To consistently deliver such without ever having to be instructed to do so requires a PURE SPIRIT, indeed. I THANK THE LORD for allowing me to have this band consistently for years. :-) All songs written by me except the standards here: 1. Freedom Jazz Dance 2. The Black Stone (11:24) 3. Invitation (22:31) 4. The Force (36:23) 5. Bye Bye Blackbird (49:40) 6. Revelations (1:03:50) 7. Peace Within (1:11:45)
