This is a MESSY, MUDDY video.. and THATS the WAY I LIKE IT! The seasons are changing.. and I want to get in as much muddy RC Formula Offroad Racing Action as I can! Icelandic Formula Offroad Racing might be one of the most completely INSANE forms of motorsport on Earth… so naturally, I wanted to see what happens when I bring that madness into RC ADVENTURES. 😈 If you have never watched full-size Icelandic Formula Offroad, do yourself a favor and look it up. These machines attack near-vertical dirt walls, launch themselves through the air, skim across WATER, destroy tires, bend parts, roll spectacularly—and then come back for another run. The engineering, horsepower, bravery and absolute commitment involved are incredible. Yet somehow, this entire style of motorsport is barely represented in the RC hobby. I think that needs to change. Formula Offroad is practically MADE for radio control. Huge power. Paddle tires. Wild hill climbs. Gates. Water crossings. Recovery vehicles. Broken parts. Questionable decisions. 😂 Everything that makes full-size Formula Offroad spectacular can become an entirely different kind of RC adventure when we build courses designed around it. Today I'm running the Vanquish H10 Optic through our developing Formula Offroad course at RC TOPIA—and apparently I decided that simply climbing the hill wasn't enough. Nope. We needed DEEP MUD, WATER, rescue equipment…and eventually a FULL-SIZE machine to recover a very much NOT full-size Formula Offroad buggy. Perfectly normal RC behavior. This isn't meant to pretend we're reproducing professional Icelandic competition perfectly. This is about taking inspiration from those incredible full-size machines and seeing how far we can push the idea in radio control. As RC TOPIA develops, I want to keep exploring Formula Offroad-style challenges, different machines, different tires, bigger climbs, water, gates, recoveries and the ridiculous engineering problems that come with trying to make RC vehicles do things they probably weren't designed to do.
